Winter Grunge

Hello my lovely readers!
If you haven't already realized I'm very into grunge fashion; everything form chokers to plaid I love everything and anything grunge. I am totally living in the wrong decade because I am totally a 90's grunge chick.
This post is a winter outfit I wore recently when I went to get pictures taken with Santa in the mall and it is very wintery with the comfy cozy sweater and knee high socks.
I hope this post gives you inspiration to pull together some awesome outfits !

This outfit is made up of items bought at the thrift store, items I made and items I purchased new.

To start with I picked out one of my favorite patterned skirts, this white, black and red skirt from American Apparel. Might I add I am very sad that all the American Apparel stores are closing in Canada, like WHY? I absolutely love American Apparel and when I heard they were closing all the stores in Canada I cried a little bit. I will still be able to order items online but it won't be the same. Anyways, the next time I was at American Apparel they had a 40-60% off sale and I bought some awesome pieces. Let me know in the comments if you guys want to see a post-shopping haul post.
After picking out a skirt I started looking for a top that would somewhat match the skirt. I found this burgundy red cropped sweater in my closet from one of my trips to Value Village. The sweater I think, matches perfectly with the skirt. Lucky me when I was looking for knee high socks to wear I had a pair that matched the sweater exactly. What are the odds!

To complete this winter grunge look, I wore a black suede choker, that I made, with a little silver paper crane charm from Origami Owl. You might be wondering, why doesn't she have any shoes on? Well to answer that question I really liked this outfit and I simply could not find a pair of shoes that I liked that went with is outfit. My suggestion for shoes to wear are black combat boots, black doc martens, or some high top sneakers like converse or Vans.
Tonight is also New Years Eve and obviously on NYE you wanna wear something that dazzles and sparkles; this outfit would be very easy to jazz up with a sparkly sweater, matching knee socks with a cute pair of sparkly heels and a New Years head band to top it off.

Hope this post gave you some inspiration! See you in the New Year!

Confessions of a Jacket Lover: Part 1

Hey there! Hi there!
Here is my first fall fashion post! Woot! Woot!
This first post is part of a series of posts about jackets because fall fashion means fabulous jackets :) Where I live it has been fairly cold and rainy, therefore I have been wearing jackets quite a bit and I have been falling back into my old ways of buying jackets like crazy haha.

This first jacket I am featuring is a jacket that I purchased recently on a trip to Value Village where I was on the hunt for items for a Halloween costume. Naturally, when I walked past the jacket rack I had to see if there were any jackets that were of my liking and guess what?

I found a totally awesome jacket.

The jacket I found reminds me of a blanket because its so big and cozy. I love this jacket because its edgy, with the black leather sleeves, and comfy, with the grey woolly middle, its the perfect mix.

For this outfit I paired the jacket with a black floppy hat from Garage to match the black leather sleeves.

It was chilly outside, so I also wore black, white and red plaid scarf I bought in Europe and pair of warm fuzzy black gloves also from Europe.

I am also wearing a pair of black Lululemon leggings and a pair of black suede booties that are H&M which I purchased at Value Village.

I hope this outfit gave you some fall fashion inspiration.

Summer Look Book Pt 4. Back to School

Hello my lovelies!
Look at me being consistent and posting again haha.
Today is the last day of summer and I thought it would be the perfect time to post the last installment of my Summer Look Book series. But don't you worry there will be a new whack of fall fashion posts coming soon! I am so excited! I can finally start wearing my fabulous knitted sweaters, scarves and warm boots again. And I also cannot wait to update my wardrobe with some new items for fall and the up coming winter. I am getting off track now haha this post is still summery and for warmer weather but I hope you guys enjoy it and keep checking back for the first fall post!

Outfit # 1

When I was picking out my first day of school outfit I was wanting something that was summery, comfortable, cute and put together.

While I was shopping one day, on my trip to Ottawa, I spied the perfect clothing piece while browsing at Garage: a striped black and white, spaghetti strap, shift dress and the best part... It was on sale :) Don't you just love the feeling when you're shopping and you find the perfect clothing piece then find out that it's on sale, it's the cherry on top.

I paired the outfit together with a jean vest from American Eagle because it was slightly chilly the first day of school. For shoes, I wore a cute pair of wedges that I scored at my local Value Village that I think are totally 90's and fit perfectly with my everyday style. I've worn the wedges so many times since I got them they are awesome because sometimes I want to wear heels or wedges, because I'm on the shorter side haha, and but then I don't end up wearing them because they are so uncomfortable to wear all day, but these are the most comfortable wedges I own and I am so happy I found them.

For accessories I'm wearing my favorite sunglasses, that you have seen in a couple other posts haha, from American Eagle, a dainty bracelet , a basic silver ring and a crystal necklace that I purchased at a local market vendor and it looks super cute because it's slightly multicolored; I love it. Also I have my toe nails painted a periwinkle blue which is my favorite color. The brand of the nail polish is Essie and the color is called Bikini So Tiny.

Outfit #2

This outfit is one that I literally threw together in the morning before school when I was running a bit late. That morning was pretty hectic and this outfit along with my hair in the pictures was all a fluke that turned out looking awesome.

In the morning I curled my hair with my pearl or bubble curling wand and I think I curled my hair too much or something and I didn't like how poufy it was, so I experimented with what I could do with my hair. I tried putting it in a ponytail and a bun but I didn't want to have my hair up so a half up Ariana Grande style was the next best thing.

And guess what?? It worked, didn't look half bad and saved my hair from being a disaster. So next time you're hair isn't co-operating just pull part of it up into a half up and Ta Da! Your hair is saved and looks cute :)

In this outfit I am wearing many of my favorite clothing items and accessories. First favorite are these super comfy, versatile, go to, black and white hi top Vans that I purchased at a vintage store in the summer. They may look just black and white on the outside but there is a bit of cute leopard print on the inside which is awesome (you can kind of see the leopard print in the picture above).

Second favorite is this yellow jacket (that is in most of these pictures) that I purchased in Europe during spring break at Forever 21. The mustard yellow color is perfect for me because I tend to wear a lot of black, whites and greys with not much color so the yellow really pops out whenever I wear it. One of the best things about this jacket is that it has huge pockets. I could probably put all the contents of my purse in the two pockets. No joke. I love the pockets. The only downside to this jacket is that it's very thin and I probably won't get to wear it for much longer because it's getting pretty cold lately.

Third favorite is this rainbow striped square neck tank from Brandy Melville. Brandy Melville is by far my favourite place to shop for basic tanks, tees, sweaters, hoodies, skirts, dresses, shorts, jewellery etc. . Yes, their clothing is a bit more on the pricier side but I get my money's worth because I wear the items I buy all the time like this tank top.
Fourth favorite are these "mom jeans" from American Apparel. They are that perfect color that goes with almost anything and they're awesome. I particularly like how great the blue of the jeans looks with my black and white Vans.

My fifth and final favorite is this hairstyle. When I first started doing my hair like this, to be honest, I didn't really like it but it grew on me. This half up Ariana Grande hairstyle is perfect when you want to have your hair down but your hair isn't co-operating with you to have it fully all down. It's also a perfect hairstyle for people who like to have their hair up in a ponytail or bun because they want to keep their hair out of their face. The half up is a lot cuter than a bun or ponytail, in my opinion.

Alright that's all the outfits I've got for y'all in this post.

See you next time!

Summer Look Book Pt 3. Adventures in Ottawa

Hello everyone and happy Sunday!

Long time no post, hey? I would like to inform y'all I will be posting more often now that I am back in my regular routine since school is back in session; I have a bunch of new posts in the works for you guys that I hope you enjoy :)

On to the outfits. Near the end of the summer I went to Ottawa with one of my friends and we attended Encounters with Canada, for more information visit www.ewc-rdc.ca Encounters with Canada is an amazing program for students to go explore Canada's capital and meet new people that picked the same activity week as you. I met and made so many new friends from all across Canada and had an unforgettable week with them. So while I was in Ottawa I decided to add some outfits to my Summer Look Book series. I hope you guys enjoy these outfits! And yes I know summer is almost over *cries* but most of these outfits you can alter them to be warmer for fall.

Visit to Parliament

Ottawa in the summer is very humid and I was not expecting it to be as extremely humid as it was so, I kind of died the first few days but after I got used to the humidity I was good to go. One of the first days in Ottawa we went to Parliament Hill and toured Parliament. It was an awesome experience and it was great seeing the beautiful architecture, but we had to wait outside for a little over an hour which had its positives and negatives; positive: took a ton of pictures, negative: it was extremely hot standing outside.

For this outfit I hopped on the bandwagon and bought a white bodysuit from American Apparel and I have to say it's really comfy and versatile; in the fall I can wear it with long skinny jeans or a skirt with a big scarf and cozy jacket . The other items I'm wearing are a jean jacket from Aeropostale, a black circle skirt from Brandy Melville, white Converse and a fabulous bright orange and blue name tag hahaha. This outfit is both formal and casual at the same time and it is now one of my go to's.
I took this picture to give you guys some shoe inspiration. Me, I always wear my Converse because they are my go to's and I think they go with everything. Two of my friends in this picture are wearing some super cute brown colored sandals and the third friend is wearing some adorable black Toms. All the shoes in this picture are awesome for summer and maybe for the up coming fall.

Most of my friends were wearing these super cute summer dresses like this tribal one Alexis is wearing...

... Or fabulous floral rompers which look totally awesome on them, but floral and tribal prints aren't really my style. I like to stick to basic black, white and jean which go with everything I wear. But if floral and tribal prints are your thing you go and rock them!

Throughout the day I was getting really hot with my jean jacket and I was tired of carrying it so I tied it around my waist and it looked really cute.

All of the above outfits can be changed for the cooler fall weather by adding tights, knee high socks, boots, scarves and layering plaid or a button down shirt with a sweater. My friend Sarah is rocking her floral romper with a button down jean shirt because it was getting a little chilly in the Museum of Art.

Adventuring in the Canadian Museum of Civilization

The other days in Ottawa I wore clothes that what were a lot more comfortable and casual such as tank tops, t-shirts, and shorts during the day and leggings, jeans, hoodies and plaid shirts in the evening when it cooled down.
In this outfit that I wore during the day I am wearing a white knitted tank top from Urban Planet (yes, I know Urban Planet is known to have cheap clothing items but they had some really nice tops like this one), light blue jean shorts from Forever 21, my bright orange and blue name tag haha, and my favourite white converse and sunglasses from American Eagle.
Later on in the evening I threw on a pair of ripped jeans from American Eagle, American Eagle is my favorite place to buy jeans if you're looking for an awesome store to buy quality jeans, a white Calvin Klein tank top and my white Converse. To add to this outfit to make it a little more fall appropriate would be a roomy baseball shirt, a hoodie,  or an oversized plaid shirt.
This picture shows a variety of outfits in a variety of styles. Starting on the left my friend Kaitlyn was sporting a grey ribbed body suit with blue skinny jeans and flip flops. Next, Alexis is channeling her inner sporty spice with a blue and white ringer tee, black leggings and black Nike's. To the right of me, Anican is wearing a red and black plaid button down, jean shorts, and brown Polo runners. Next, Payton is rocking a black and white Mehdi Cayenne band shirt (you should go check him out he's pretty awesome www.mehdicayenneclub.com) blue skinny jeans and brown sandals. Second last, Emma is sporting a red and black flannel, with dark blue jean shorts and burgundy Vans. Lastly, Sarah is looking fabulous in a floral romper and cute brown sandals.

Friday Banquet

This last outfit for this post is fancy, because I'm wearing a dress, but casual at the same time.

I bought this beautiful white lace dress at Forever 21 and can you believe I found it on the sales rack in my size?! I can't.

With this outfit I'm wearing my favourite white Converse because of two reasons. One, I forgot to bring some cute shoes to wear for the dance and two I couldn't find any shoes when I went shopping that I thought would go perfectly with this dress. But I think I lucked out because they white Converse match perfectly with the dress haha obviously because they're both white.

This outfit was the perfect balance of comfy, casual with my Converse and formal with my white lacy dress.

That's it for this blog post! I hope you guys like it and gained some fashion inspiration for your next outfit.

Summer Look Book Pt 2. 90's

Hello my Fashionistas!
Firstly, I'd like to apologize for posting this extremely late but it's summer time and I'm very busy juggling work and sleep hahaha. Alright, on to the second look in my Summer Look Book.

Nothing's better than dressing up in past fashion trends to make a statement. Fashion trends from the 90's are totally awesome and are my favorite style to wear from the choker necklaces and plaid everything to doc martins and converse. I love all the iconic fashion trends from the 90's and they are my go-to for casual outfits: ripped jeans and hoodies, to stand-out outfits: bodycon mini dresses and platform heels.

I'm absolutely in love with 90's fashion; the plaid skirts, hoop earrings, choker necklaces, doc martins, button-down shirts, ripped jeans, and the fabulous exercise outfits all contribute to my love of fashion from this period in time.

This look I am sharing with you, my fellow fashionistas, is a typical 90's outfit that I threw together for a 90's party that I attended. My outfit is similar to one you might have seen on Cher, the main character in the 1995 movie "Clueless." The movie "Clueless" displays various iconic 90's fashion trends and it's a superb movie.

90's Fashion

Outfit #2 is very 90's grunge and I'm in love with grunge and very happy it's making a come back because the effortless fashion that is associated with 90's grunge is extremely fashionable, in my opinion.

The outfit I put together last minute, I have to admit, looks pretty darn good. The only thing was that I had left my sunglasses I wanted to wear at home so I borrowed a pair which I have to say didn't look too bad considering they looked like a pair of Aviators Maverick from the 1986 movie "Top Gun" would have worn.

My outfit consists of white doc martins size 6.5, that I scored at Value Village, a white and black plaid pleated skirt from American Apparel in medium, a white high necked tank from Bluenotes (haha Bluenotes has decent things sometimes don't judge), a jean moto stlye jacket also scored at Value Village, one tattoo choker from Brandy Melville, and a second choker I made with suede string and a paper crane charm.

I topped it off with some dark red lipstick from the era to complete the look.

I love this outfit and I have worn an outfit similar to this one to school. It is very comfortable and the jean jacket is perfect for cooler summer nights and you can always swap out the Doc Martins for some Converse which would be as equally 90's and the Doc's.

This last picture takes place the the 90's themed party I went to. The party was outside and it was very hot so I tied my jean jacket around my waist and I really like how is contributed to the overall look. This look is very versatile and very easy to make it you're own.

Hope you were inspired!

Summer Look Book Pt 1. Floral

This new post is going to be one part of a many part look book of summer outfits, all categorized based on the style of the outfit. I will be posting one outfit about every 2 weeks so keep coming back to check out the new outfit of the week! Hope you enjoy this first post of many to come.

****

During the summer I find it very difficult to find something fashionable to wear that you won't die of heat stroke in. My go-to's are the obvious: dresses, rompers, skirts & shorts and tanks.

I hope these pictures give you some inspiration for everyday wear or a fancy night out.

 1. Floral

Summer fashion is all about the exciting colors and exotic patterns, like floral. Floral is a very versatile pattern in my opinion and you can either dress it up or dress it down.

I am absolutely in love with this adorable romper with dainty sunflowers all over it that I purchased at Forever 21. Usually, I find many rompers don't really fit on my frame so I was very surprised when this one looked gorgeous instead of like a little kid's pajamas.

The multi-colored wedges that I am wearing I found at a consignment store! They are so cute and I love how different they look from any other wedges I've seen. Goes to show you sometimes there is more unique clothing, accessories and shoes at used clothing stores.
With an outfit like this to make it a bit more casual swap the wedges for a comfy pair of sneakers or sandals.

The cardigan I'm am wearing is one of the very few pieces of Aeropostale clothing I have left from the early days of high school (haha). It's a very neutral color and goes with many outfits I've worn.

And lastly the most important thing for the summer is... Sunglasses!
I found this great pair at American Eagle and the best part, they were on sale!
